After paying over $150,000 over 20 years on car insurance State Farm completely failed me. Is a very long story, that includes mistakenly cancel one of my cars without any reason or permission, failing to notify me of the mistake and having my DL and registration almost canceled. Let's just said that the most incompetent and rude person Marjorie ** works at George Meroni State Farm in Homestead, Fl. My best advice is: Stay away from State Farm. Geico offers better coverage for less money.
I recently received a call from State Farm Claims Department explaining the reason for my car rental being terminated as of that day. Roosevelt, was very rude and extremely unprofessional. He accused me of calling several times asking for extensions, which was not me. I asked him for facts only later to find out it was not me. He never apologize!!! Then it was escalated to his manager Lola, whom was just as rude. I have been a long time client of State Farm... I'm extremely disappointed in their services these days.
I was in my first auto accident and chose a shop awarded gold standard, has the Porsche contract, but not a State Farm network body shop. It's going on 3 months and I have not received my car. It’s completed but the case is not closed. It appears the body shop and State Farm are in a feud. The body shop has several locations in LA and is not a small operation. I received this email below today, after a claims representative dictated to me the language on the phone. Can you imagine an insurer to dictate this after working with the body shop for the last the eight weeks prior on this exact car? Additionally there are hundreds of SF cars at these facilities. I suggest the attorney general gets involved.

On the 17 of November my husband was driving south on Andrew Ave and lady was coof Little Street and hit the front end of van 2010 Grand Caravan so I call State Farm and they did not take liability till a week later. Put me in a truck and two days later they call and said they going to total it out but I had a loan on it. They told me they not going to fix it. I ask why. It cost 7500 to fix it but they rather pay more to the car people and left me with nothing to get my kids around or able to take my sick children to doctor. I don't have any money to put down to get another van. How do that that make me whole. I feel cheated and treated unfair and no one will help me.
We were sent a non-renewal letter in the mail. We were not being renewed because of my husband's driving record: a speeding ticket that was 3 years old, and a wreck that happened last year when a tree fell on our truck. We called our agent several times to file an appeal and never received a callback, so we started looking for other insurance. We found the same policy insurance, for a lesser price and so we wanted to switch all of our accounts.
I had to break down and call our agent once again to find out the process for switching our homeowners and make a plea, once more, to help save us the hassle of changing insurance companies, since we had been with State Farm for over 15 years. He did not help us in any way. In fact, he wanted to give me "advice" on shopping for new homeowners insurance. His condescending, egotistical attitude was felt through the receiver and I couldn't wait to get off the phone. I couldn't switch our insurance fast enough after that.

My husband got a new car, called State Farm at dealership. Got insurance. Then days later he gets a call from a guy named. Garod in Wayne NJ and was advised that the person didn't run my husband details. So now policy had to be canceled and deposit would be refunded once New insurance is set up. My husband got new insurance OCT 31, was told money would be refunded a week later. It's Dec 2 and still no refund. Each week told it will be sent out this week and then the week pass still no check! Bad business! State Crooks insurance is what I call them!
When I called to discontinue my policy because I found the same coverage for half the price, the person I spoke to (Lynn) was incredibly rude and actually hung up on me at one point because we were having a hard time hearing each other.
Why is it so hard to find an agent that will return calls? We are very dissatisfied with our local agent and want to change agents. Was told State Farm discourages against this, so guess we will go elsewhere. We were then told by another agent State Farm would rather keep us than low us because of agent, and that we had to call our agent and have them switch accounts. So my husband called our local agent, and as usual he never has time to talk and never returns calls. Always a fight with them.
I purchased auto insurance for my vehicle online on October 30th at 4 am . State Farm online priced me for liability insurance for my car 180.00. I thought that was pricey. I had been driving a scooter prior and had one auto accident almost 2 years prior. I assumed that I probably would have high insurance. Well I shopped around when it was time that I could speak to a live agent. Now keep in mind I don't even have a drivers license. So for any policy to be accurate I have to have a licensed driver on my policy. I never put a driver on the policy with State Farm. I honestly don't know how they ever sold me a policy to begin with.
Anyway I found auto insurance for 70 bucks a month quite a difference in the price. So I called on October 30th at 9 o clock am to cancel my policy. They did cancel that policy on November 3rd they explained that the policy would have to be written which would take their system several days. Then they could cancel my policy. I understood and agreed.
It is November 29th. I still have not received my check in the mail. I have called several times probably at least 6 times I have spoken several times with supervisors. The first time I was explained that they should have done a flat cancel and refunded my money back to my debit card. They didn't say anything about that until it was too late to do anything like that. Every time I call they tell me my policy is in processing. I spoke with one supervisor. She said that my agent would issue me a check and Kevin ** the State Farm agent in Newton NC would be able to help me. I called his office to learn he can't do that. He says he has talked to the escalation department to expedite my issue.
This has been nothing but a hassle and I pray no one else will ever have to deal with this. I was told excuse after excuse just so this company could hold my money. I think they don't care. It is holiday season. I live barely week to week. I struggle to make my ends meet. I worked hard to gain my drivers privilege back. I believe if the owner of State Farm would lose his money and have kids and struggle to make ends meet on lots of people income. I don't think he would be so quick to let his employees just hassle his clients. I understand that this company has been around for many years. So that said they most likely have made plenty of money. To try and keep someone's little 180.00 seems ridiculous. If I could hire an attorney to take this company to court I would do that. They need to pay for treating people like this.
State Farm hires nice people which makes it sting a little to not give them an excellent rating all the way across. I appreciate their attempts to balance customer savings with agent profitability but it's difficult and often ends up leaving a customer overexposed financially to liability if there is an accident. It's better to ask another non financially motivated agent about coverages you actually need versus going with the standard/state minimum coverages. Unfortunately, like many businesses you must have in-depth understanding about questions you need to ask and no one tells you what you don't know... So you'll never know.
Agent was very interested in getting to know me and what I needed in a policy. Lots of questions and feedback, getting the policy just right for my personal requirements and budget. Very forthcoming with options and suggestions, pros and cons, financial considerations. I felt like I had just made some new friends.
2 months now and still claim is not resolved. My wife was not at fault. Your insured pulled out in front of her and instead of doing the work you are supposed to do. After a trip to the hospital you make her get her own dr bills and do your job for you. Then after a crappy offer 2 months later our claim handler goes on vacation then gets back and goes out sick but somehow nobody in the entire company can send a check except him??? We got everything notarized the day it came multiple times. Got dr bills as soon as they were required. Now do your job and send our check. Bet your insured is already paid and riding in a new car.
We have had this insurance company before over 20 years and as time goes by this company has delivered! Whether it was a car accident or home incident this company always made us whole! It's a family insurance company.
The agent I have at State Farm is spectacular. He works very hard to ensure I have all of the necessary coverage. Unfortunately, they randomly raise my rates, which he has no control over. And the fact that State Farm randomly raises rates without giving you a specific reason irritates me. They should be staying in contact with their customers and letting them know why they make the changes they do.
Billing and service have been excellent for me with State Farm. Most of the prices I get from other companies are higher with less value. In 40 years of service have not had any issues for anything. Filed a claim for a towing change. Was paid the same day with a check for the whole amount. No questions.
I was in a car accident in late November. I filed my claim and while everyone was very nice over the phone, I didn't feel they were motivated to get my claim processed. It took 2 months for them to pay for the claim. My rental had ran out and I was without a car for over a month because I needed the wrecked vehicle paid off before I could finance the new vehicle. It cost me quite a bit out of pocket and I was very displeased with my service. Then they also ended up denying medical bills that should have been covered.
Had one of their insured back into my vehicle and came to the house I was visiting and told us he backed into my car. I got all of his insurance information and called State Farm to start a claim. Here it is 5 weeks later and now he claims he didn't back into me. I have called numerous times and they claim they are waiting for proof. Where did I get his policy number and name and all? I'm getting really tired of the runaround and just want my car fixed.
State Farm Agent Warning. Unfortunately, I would like to save you some heartache with one particular State Farm agent (Justin ** located by Hebron Public Library). He is not honest and altered our coverage without our consent. He recently reduced our coverage by as much as 75% in some areas and 50% in others when all we asked was to adjust the assigned drivers to covered drivers. This simple action took him over 4 months to accomplish, his customer service is really sub-standard for State Farm. Without a quick comparison, we would not have known that we are underinsured.
This is not a warning for all State Farm agents. We have been with State Farm for 28 years and was well taken care of. Justin ** joined our neighborhood when our previous agent passed suddenly (Paul ** you will be missed). If you have coverage with this agent please check your new declarations page with your previous one. Justin admitted that the timeline was extensive because of issues with corporate and offered gift cards to acknowledge the frustration we were experiencing in the process but those have yet to arrive (several weeks later) and Justin has only initiated a call to us once throughout this now labeled "ordeal."
I have been with this company all my adult life. I pay my policy payments on time and all these years, hardly ever make a claim, you would think they would jump to come to you. Filed a claim, went to the claims center where adjuster surveyed damage. I thought it was rude of them to ask me to come to a claims center. I always thought they would come to you when you needed them. I then heard from them 2 days later on the amount they had decided on and I got check.
State Farm get TOP ratings from me due to how simplified they make things. No long wait time on hold when you call. They tell you what you need to know and does not waste your time! They answer your questions when you call and someone is available 7 days a week. They have awesome consumer relations and policy rates! Very PROFESSIONAL and HONEST! State Farm is as awesome as its slogan LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR. I was rear ended well over a year ago and they made sure I was able to travel to an important family function that was out of state!
I switched from Nationwide to State Farm because I got the same coverage for about $30 less a month with State Farm. A lot less expensive than most insurance. The only complaint I have with State Farm is they dropped me from their roadside assistance cause I used it 3 or 4 times in 2 months and can't get it reinstated for about 2 years. I did buy a battery which was the problem with roadside assistance.
I've been with them for 39 years and the company has treated me well in Florida, New Mexico, Nevada and Wisconsin. In filing claims, they have standard service, came in for estimate and check cut to repair minus the deductible.
I have been insured by State Farm for 10 years. This site really helped me realize my awful experience is par for the course, rather directed at me. Their goal seems to be to make life unbearable! I have talked to one attorney, who had a similar personal experience. What is their slogan: "Like a good neighbor State Farm is there." Huh, I feel so harmed and violated. Agents cannot, as at about 3.5 years, be involved in the claims process! Instead, I was told when I phoned a person whose name was on the letter, that he was not in. State Farm uses a "team approach" to claims, I was told. They are all independent contractors, which I interpret to mean they have no job security unless they fit the corporate mold, which is how to save a make $ for State Farm.
It starts with the body shop, a State Farm "preferred " body shop. I hit a deer arriving back from the airport and was hit by a deer. The deer hit me more than I was hit the deer! They want to total out my electric-gas car. I will fight every step of the way. An electric gas car that was developed with federal government assistance and my car is totaled! ?? Insurance has not at all kept up with technology, and they think this is a reason to total out.a car? The air bags did not even go off, a frequent reason I understand for vehicles to not be repaired??? Because they are a threat to the status quo?
I routinely paid my insurance bill, State Farm is not at all doing their due diligence and fulfilling their duty, at all. I understand in Europe they will very soon make it illegal to drive a gas car, that is occurring very soon. I have filed with some organizations, also. When I look at pics of my car, damage is minimal compared to deer hits I have had over the years. Insurance was fair and reasonable, not any more! I heard one of founders of Tesla speak at a conference, great, the goal is to have interchangeable parts that will work for all electric cars! Seriously! State Farm is awful, and my problem is not yet fixed, but I hope it will be. What are the chances that State Farm, CPAs, etc are laggards, resist change, and protect their fake "empire." It should be malpractice, and grossly illegal.
There is one agent at local office who wants to avoid what has happened; I think there are risks to learn about claims experiences for them. The national corporate office is very bad, even the comparables were not anywhere close to a comparable. When I learned they were all independent contractors their behavior was explained. They only have loyalty to $$, subzero to customer! Incredible. The story has not reached a conclusion, YET. It is the worst experience I have ever had. Instead, State Farm wants to punish financially people they owe a duty to, so did the CPA I had. In the meantime I think I am on the right side of the problem. Why can't we get along without being laggards?? We owe obligations, let's follow what should be done.
State Farm's rates are competitive. I feel like I'm not being overcharged. My agent is very knowledgeable, always answers my questions quickly and is very friendly. Plus provides me with other options if I want. I do not feel pressured to add things I don't feel I need and they provide several payment options.
I enjoy doing business with my agent and his staff, because they are helpful and really care about their customers. They always offer great customer service and treat customers as people and not a number. When filing a claim, the claims office did initially contact me. However, I had to follow up with them by leaving voice messages. The medical claims department is slow on paying medical bills that were incurred from the accident.
Customer service excellent. I've been with Lisa ** firm of Raleigh, NC. She and her staff are friendly, professional and try to give you the best rate going that is comparable in the industry.
I was very pleased with their customer service. They gave me very understandable information that made filing my claim less stressful. However, in the past I have filed insurance claims where the representatives were rude and made me feel as if I was a bother to them, but I did not have to go off chain with this company.
No complaints on claim handling. Very fair and upfront. No haggle, no hassle. Claim paid within 7 days. However, their rates escalate too rapidly without claims! Every renewal sees an increase! Never a drop!
They are all about the mighty dollar. They are one of the highest priced and their customer service doesn't show it. They could be better if they cared about customers' satisfaction.
Usually very good customer service. A couple of oops but nothing bad. Have a great rate that no one else can touch. Have been told that multiple times. Easy to pay online and access our accounts. We can call the office or come in to the office if we need something. Open on Saturdays too.
